New Shoes and ACDC :)

Here's Senan is his ACDC t-shirt, we love Rock'n' Roll t-shirts :) We have a Beatles one and a Ramones one :)

I took this in Gourmet Burger, man I love this place! Me and my aunty go nearly every Saturday. The Fallafel Burger is my fav by far!

Here's my little man's first pair of shoes. They were a super expensive €35 but they are Clark's so they're the best children's shoes on the market in Ireland anyway. They are really soft and pliable to allow babies foot to move as if it was just socks. They aren' they cutest of shoes but they are the best for his little feet as he's really trying his best to walk at the moment.

I will try to get it on video and show you guys, every time he tries to walk my heart thumps so hard with excitement and nervousness :)

my lovely weekend!

My weekend went a little something like this :)

My aunty Sarah came to stay and we laughed baked buns and watched xfactor :)

Yum yum white chocolate buns... On Sunday all my family went for food for my brother and aunties birthday, it was lovely.
My aunty Paula and my big little brother, Pha Pha (Philip)

Me and Aunty Paula, she is the funniest person ever. She is mentally handicap and has the mind of a young child but you would never know and she has come so far and is smarter than we give her credit for sometimes, she's so cute :) She has a little job and sows the most amazing hand craft you've ever seen, she's so talented. She says the funniest things and gets so excited when Senan and I go to Grandad's house and she's always smiling!

Now off for a nice refreshing walk. Its gonna be chilly its only 6degrees here in Dublin, beats the rainy rain though :)

A day in my life....

So here's a fine example of a day in my life... I mentioned in a previous post I have been diagnosed with a condition related to child birth so I am in and out of the hospital for appointments with consultants, physiotherapy and A&E all the time. Today is no different I have to drop Senan off at his Aunty Tara's and head to the hospital.. But we have had a lovely eventful, messy morning :)

That's a messy lil guy.. We are now watching 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' he loves this. I try not to let him watch too much telly but sometimes it helps me get some housework done. I'm typing this in between washing dishes, taking Senan away from presses he's trying to open ( I still haven't got around to fixing the safety latches haha), hanging washing (laundry) on the clothes horse. Putting bottles in the steralizer as we are giving formula now. While I'm doing all this I'm imaging my wardrobe in my head so I can figure out what we are wearing today. And wishing I had some money to buy some new jammies, I sit here still wearing my maternity pj's they are hanging off me and the mark of my old preggy belly is still in them haha! You know times are hard when you're still wearing preggy pj's nearly eleven months later haha...

Oh look what my lovely friend Claire bought Senan. It's Christmas Songs with his name sung in them :) Thanks Aunty Claire...

Going to listen to them and get in the Christmas spirit....

Clemantine eating before bath time :)

best lip rescue ever!!... and first steps!

Ok, random post but just had to let you know my little man took his very first steps!! I wish I could've got it on video! My heart raced as I watched his little feet make the three steps.. It was amazing and I cried with tears of happiness and pride!

He's been randomly standing on his own for ages now but I don't have any pictures of him walking. This was taken in my mam's house at the weekend.. Look at that mess, he made all that all my his messy self...

RANDOM BEAUTY TIP FOR DRY LIPS AND SKIN :
So I've had this horrible patch of dry skin on my top lip and I've tried everything and I couldn't find anything that worked. Till I found this in my basket of skin care goodies that's so big I forget I have most of the stuff..

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is the best stuff ever I used it overnight for the past few days and my lips are so smoooooth :) Love this stuff, I know it's not the cheapest product but well worth it. I also used it on baby's bum as it repairs minor skin irritations and dry skin. This stuff is amaze-balls of glory :)

Better go clean up while my laddie is napping.
Smooth lips and napping sweetie

What happens when Senan comes to stay?

This is what happens!!!

This is one messy living room!! How can such a small little person make so much mess??? haha..

We went to stay in my lovely mammy's house this weekend. My mam lives a bit away from me so I love going to stay with her because I get to see my step dad and two little brothers. You can see our dog Charlie, my step dad Neil and my baby brother Conor, playing games on the computer :)

Senan and his uncle Philip. My little big brother ha he towers over my 5"5. When Conor was starting to talk he couldn't say Philip and called him Pha Pha and we all call him Pha Pha now :) He was messing and trying to be 'street'. Senan's track suit is actually a onesie, so it's now called a 'trunzie' haha..

And now we are fast asleep after our lovely weekend at Granny's house :)

Senan's Special Day!

Hey everyone,
I thought I would share the pictures of my little one's Christening Day, it was April this year before I started my blog. Here he is asleep in my arms, I love this photo. My mam was photographer for the day :)

I had Senan christened because my Gran would have wanted it and I know she would have been so excited to see his Christening Day. She was a devout Catholic and would never miss Saturday Night Mass unless she was really sick. She prayed every morning and night.

Here's my little man on his Christening blanket with his name and date of birth stitched in. My Gran's sister, my great-auntie Doreen had it made for him. It's tradition to put the babies in white gowns even if they're boys :) You probably seen that in Sex and the City when Miranda is having Brady christened.

Gotta go I can hear Senan waking up.
Hope you enjoyed looking thorugh my little man's special day.
All our love Becks and Senan :) xxx

wanna have a peek around?

Wanna have a little look at my precious babies first bedroom?

I know, I know.... It's not the most gorgeous, glamorous, expensive bedroom but it's still my little one's first bedroom. I would love to have more money to decorate it like the vision I have in my mind but I don't. I decorated it with the little money I have but I am proud of it all the same. The leaf canopy is from Ikea I love it and Senan likes to pull from it and cry when he can't get it :D

Here's his cot with matching bedding. The bedding is a hand-me-down from my little brother's cot who is three now. The hippo cuddly toy is from him aswell, I will never forget the day Conor (my brother) ran up to my house with the hippo in his hands saying "Pecca, Pecca this is present for baby Senan". He calls me "pecka" I haven't a clue why but I love it :)

This is his dresser with little 'bits and bobs' on it. Including a picture frame with no picture in it haha.. I haven't got around to putting a picture in it yet haha. The yellow star projects an image on the ceiling and plays the lovliest lullabies. And what little boy doesn'y need a Hello Kitty cuddly toy?? haha I'm totally kidding. I got it when I was pregnant, convinced I was having a girl haha, I heart Hello Kitty! H&M girls section is just full of Hello Kitty clothes and they're so cute. How come the girls section is huge in every shop and there's a tiny section for boys stuff?? I would love to ask the owners of H&M why this is so haha.

Hope you enjoyed having a little look around my little rascals very first bedroom :)

November we Remember...

                                                       Ursula James
My wonderful Gran.. My gran passed away suddenly July 19th 2010 of lung cancer. I just wanted to dedicate this post to her and the unforgettable memories I have of her. I wasn't the closest person to her as I lived with her and we got on each other's nerves a lot of the time. I wish I had of made more time for her and I really regret that I didn't tell her "I love you, Gran" enough and didn't kiss her enough. She was the most funny, honest and by far the most brave and strong person I've ever met. Her and my Grand-dad went through so much together and I hate that she is missing out on my beautiful son's smiles and laughs. I know she is looking down on us from up above and I know she would have loved Senan. In Ireland November is ' All Saints' and we remember our departed loved ones, family and friends. We went to mass/church today for a mass remembering all of our departed loved ones. I am not a practicing Catholic but I went to the mass because my grand-dad (who is by the way a devout Catholic) wanted so much for us all to be there. I don't know if I believe in God and I don't really know what my religion is but when I look up at the sky with the sun splitting through the clouds I always imagine, if there was a heaven that's what it would look like. I know she is looking down on us and taking care of us.

I love this photo of her she had the funniest laugh and when she laughed too hard she would snort like a piggy it was hilarious. This is my wonderful "gan-gan" next to her with his eyes closed. And the side of my head with crazy blonde hair woah! I say it all the time but life is short so kiss and hug your loved ones all the time. Tell them you love them all the time because we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow so let's make the most of today. Quote of the day "Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life"

Love Becks. I am on my own for a few hours because Senan is with his Daddy, but he sends his little love too :) xxxxx

a fresh start :)

Here I am with my little one on our annual 'family day out' haha how nerdy does that sound :) I love these black and blue leopard print pumps they were only five euro in Penneys :)

Anyway after a much negative and 'feeling-sorry-for-myself' week, I woke up this morning and decided no more gloom and doom. Life is short and my little man won't be tiny and huggable forever.. Today is a new day and I am going to make the most of it, no matter how horrible our day may seem there are people out there much worse than us and more frustrated and lonely than us. I am going over to my fab grandad's house to see my aunties. My grand-dad who is 70 and looks like a 40 year old man and he can actually run faster than me! I have so much to be appreciative of and so much to look forward to, and SO DO YOU :)

So let's be positive and always remember "yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that's why they call it the present". I love this saying and it is so true, who know's what tomorrow will bring, be it bad or good as long as we are strong and positive we can over come it and get to where we want to be in life.

Love always Becks and feet-hanging-out-of-the-washing-machine Senan xxxxxxxxxxx

Man what a day!

Today, in face this week has been one of the hardest weeks in my mammy life!
My little man just wants to hang around my feet all the time and trip me up or pull my jammies down :)
I love my son but sometimes it's so hard to be a mam and sometimes it takes tremendous effort just to get out the door. Putting a coat on my wriggly little man is a job in itself, if only they paid me for being a coat putter-on-er :) I have been diagnosed with a health problem and it makes it hard for me to play with my son and lift him. I am saying this because I hope someone out there sees this and feels they are not alone. Maybe this post might reach one person feeling down for any reason and make them feel better. Sometimes I feel alone and although my son is brilliant company I still miss 'adult conversation' haha...

I had the worst day today and on top of all that I deleted all my photographs, I nearly cried to think of the lovely photo's that have been lost of my amazing little man.. I tried to do some crafting and then my silver spraypaint blew up in my face and now I'm silver face, or Gandelf the grey haha :)

A blurry but goody :) I had to stop making funny sounds coz he was laughing so hard :)
But no matter how bad my day was all I have to do is look at him and it doesn't all seem so bad and there is nothing we can't get through together...

Better go and check on my sleeping angel Love Becks :) xxxx

How to be a cloth diaperin' momma!

Hi Guys,

I thought I would post about my diapers (or nappies as we call them in the Ireland). I use cloth/ reusable nappies for loads of different reasons and here they are :

*They are better for babies bum as they have no harsh chemicals or unnatural substances
*No rashes and harsh marks on babies legs
*They are cheap as chips
*They are better for the environment

I discovered cloth nappies from a parenting forum I use.
The most basic is the pre fold. This is basically a rectangular piece of cotton with a layer or two of extra material sown down the middle for extra absorbency. These are closed with a nappi nappa or snappi. And covered in a wrap. Here's a pre fold on my little man. Closed with a snappi and lined with a flushable liner.

When I say I use cloth nappies people always think of the way they're mother's or Granny's used terry clothes, giant safety pin's and waterproof covers. Re-usables have come along so much and take the same amount of time to change. At first it did take me a little longer to change but now I can change him just as fast. The covers and nappies are so cute, colourful and different. I don't like to be the same as any one else :). Here's some pics of some of the nappies covers (wraps) I use on Senan.

I love this lady bird one with the little flowers, a little girly but what they hey :)

here's another one of a frog in a pond :)

Hope you like, let me know if there's something I missed or you would like to know :)
